Winter Solstice 2011

Now that I’m thinking about it, it’s my last winter solstice here in China. Now here in China, they eat glutinous rice balls or 汤圆 to commemorate winter solstice and the coming of longer daylight hours.

Roommates & friends: (L-R: Xiaoqi, Karine, Ertha,Nia & Jerry)

Off with the complications, on to the food! Roommates wanted to celebrate (a day early, though, it’s supposed to be tomorrow). Dumplings and rice balls galore! (Personally, I have yet to acquire a taste for the chewy rice balls. Not good for braces!)

I hope we’re making you hungry! 😀

冬至节快乐!
